New to Heartwood? Trust me, you want a yearbook. Every year the talented Ginny McCollum and a slew of parent volunteers wow us with their dedication to producing a high quality yearbook that captures the heart of Heartwood.

The pages are filled with what you would commonly find in a yearbook: class photos, individual pictures of students and coverage of special events. These pages are carefully created keepsakes that I find my family enjoys looking at and reminiscing about. But where our yearbook really shines is in the student interviews.

Our youngest children are interviewed by volunteers while our older children fill out their interview forms themselves. The answers range from hilarious to heart warming.

“What does Heartwood mean to students?” An upper elementary student said that Heartwood meant everything to her because she knew it was a place that loved not only her but her sister as well. Another student took the question a bit more literally and described Heartwood as “an old 1990’s school.” You get the picture.
